Welcome - this website was created for my RCC students in 2007, but has a good deal of information about the Rockland County environment that will be of interest to others.

Leadership Rockland suggested readings are highlighted in RED.

Research Tools

Journal News articles via the RCC library (full text search back to 1999). This link will take you to the library's list of online databases. Scroll down to "Newsbank" and click on "Journal News" (you will have to give your username and password to gain off-campus access to the database).

HAVERSTRAW WATERFRONT CASE STUDY

These readings pertain the the annual Land Use Symposium for Youth organized by Keep Rockland Beautiful, Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory,. Hudson Basin River Watch, Cornell Cooperative Extension and Americorps. Each year over 100 high school students and their teachers meet with mentors from in planning, real estate and community organizations, and learn about sustainable and collaborative planning methods. Below is the case study from 2007. It was updated for 2008 - contact KRB at 845-708-9159 for more info.
